Create a Twitter Feed in a Website

Twitter offers embeddable timelines that allow you to display any public Twitter feed onto your blog. These timelines are interactive, so readers can reply, retweet and favorite tweets straight from your blog or website.

  1. Go to Twitter and create your Twitter Widget. Make sure you are logged into the account on Twitter you want to feed to the website as some people have multiple Twitter accounts. Once you’re done, click “Save Changes.”
  2. You will be taken to a preview screen for your widget.
  3. Look at the URL bar at the top of the screen and copy the ID Number as shown below. You can enter this ID into widgets and shortcodes within wordpress.

Please note the message displayed on Twitter when you create the widget “Your widget has been saved, it may take a few minutes for your changes to appear.” It may not display immediately on your website so wait for 15 minutes or so and it should then display.

Install JetPack Plugin

To show the widget on your website you will need to install a Twitter Feed Widget. A good Twitter Widget for Wordress is packed with the JetPack plugin included in WordPress default installation.
